My Family for the War is about Franziska, a ten-year-old protestant girl with Jewish grandparents. Franziska lives in Germany during the start of World War Two when her parents decide to send her out of the country aboard a Kindertransport due to the rise of violent acts committed against Jews. After discovering her foster family has backed out, she is stuck without a family in England. When she finally does find a family who is Jewish, she has trouble adapting to her new life.
