Three refugees are trying to escape and find their way in this book Refugee by Alan Gratz. Josef and his family were found by Nazis, so they went to Hamburg. To escape they took a boat to Havana, and then they got stopped at Cuba and had to go back to Europe. For Isabel she is in Havana but then has to leave because her dad could be captured. They try to go to the U.S but are stopped in the Bahamas. In Syria, Mahmoud’s family’s apartment is destroyed by a missile, so they had to leave Aleppo.
